This past Friday, I hosted a dinner party at my house to help with a fund-raiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Spartanburg. The purpose of the event was to help finance a concert open to all the youth of Spartanburg, SC. The concert was to host the Wheresville Project, wonderful young band of Spartanburg. The fund-raiser consisted of a progressive dinner party. The party started at a house for appetizers. All guests were invited to come there first. They were then given the name of the host they would go to for dinner. They were to stay at that house for dinner, and then go to the concert area for dessert and for the concert. I thought it was a great format. I believe the event was a success, and I hope that it will be repeated again as I had a fun time.
So what do you cook when you have people coming to your house for a gourmet meal???The choices are endless but since you don’t know of your guests’ like and dislikes or about food allergies, it was a daunting task to come up with a meal. I finally decided to offer a salad of arugula, radicchio and pomegranate with a Pomegranate dressing and Asiago shavings as my appetizer. For the entrée I offer Beef Wellington with Black truffle Fries and Dill Haricots verts. The meal was to be served with French wine of course. I hope my guest had a good time. I did;-)
